Hey Tobias,

This got bought to my attention recently… unfortunately Amazon have already got rid of this feature (in the US too). Thanks for confirming it’s the same in Europe. I will keep an eye on this to see if any other features crop up!

Thanks,
Kym

i tried to implement your strategy with external benefits today. Unfortunately the external benefits are disabled in europe now and we cannot create that extra goodie on the checkout page anymore. Is it still possible in us? Is there any other way to circumstance that?

Hey Dee,

You need to ensure you set up a money off promo for a product and then add an external benefits promo to get the messaging in the check out.

I’m not sure how it would work to have another product as the second item though, were you using the “Create a new product selection” options? If you figure it out I’d love to hear how it works!

Thanks,
Kym

Can the reason be because I set it up for all products in the same promotion?
I want customers to be able to purchase any of our products as the second item.

Hey Kevin,

Sure – that’s how I set it up. But I think you could do it either way around, so long as they are both running at the same time. After all, if you set up External Benefits (which essentially lets you put that neat message at checkout) but the offer you mention in the message isn’t there, then people will just get frustrated.

Also worth noting that you need to schedule each promotion to begin a minimum of 4 hours in the future. I did this wrong at first (one day, timezones won’t confuse me so much!), and the promo code was submitted but just disappeared. So make sure you give 4+ hours when you schedule!

Thanks for reading,
Kym

Is this correct?
